Hummingbird
Hummingbirds are related to the family Trochilidae. They are one of the smallest birds.Tiny birds with hovering flight taking nectar from flower and insects, on the wing.
Nest a minute cup on a raised site usually the upper surface of a plant stem or a twig.Made mainly of plant down and similar fine material,bound together and supported by spider's webs.Web may be wound round structure by hummingbird in flight At times sites are reused, several nests being built, one on the other, to produce an abnormally tall structure, Nest building Incubation and care of young by female alone.
Hummingbird laying and incubation may begin before nest-lining is complete.Eggs white,elongated and very large for the size of the bird.Incubation period is very long and variable.Young hatch with very little down.They have very short bills at first.Female inserts bill deep into mouth and throat of young and regurgitates food. Hummingbird's young may sit on the nest edge and exercise wings 2-3 days before leaving the nest.
