Scarlet Macaws

Scarlet Macaws are the red yellow and blue colored parrots mostly found in South America.

OccurrenceThese parrots are the natives to humid evergreen forests of South America.There living range exists in Mexico , Amazonian,Peru,Bolivia,Venezuela and Brazil in lowlands.It is also the national bird of Honduras.

Physical Characteristics: It is about 81cm long half of this length is its pointed tail and its average weight is about 1 kg. 

Voice: Scarlet Macaws makes very loud, high but sometimes low pitched voice which goes up to the distance of many miles to call for their groups.

Lifespan: The lifespan for the Scarlet Macaws is up to 75 years. Although some typical lifespan of 45 to 50 years.

Feeding: They eat mostly fruits, nuts and seeds also large and hard seeds.
Breeding: The female Scarlet Macaw lays about 2 to 3 eggs. The eggs are laid in the cavity of the trees. Female Scarlet Macaw incubates the eggs for a period of five weeks. The chicks become able to fly after 90 days of hatching and leave their parents about a year later.
