The Ring necked Pheasant is a very distinctive and colorful bird.Ring necked Pheasants Breeds in reedbeds, on waste ground among cultivation, hedgerows, scrub, and woodland. Introduced (from Asia) in cultivated regions. Males are polygamous and females nest alone. Nest normally on the ground in cover of tall plants, briers or shrubs, rarely on raised sites on stacks or overgrown ruins, or flattish old bird nests or squirrel nests in trees.Ring necked Pheasant usually walk or run and only occasionally resort to flying, usually when disturbed at close range by humans or other predators.
Diet: Cultivated seeds, grains, leaves, grasses, roots, wild fruits, nuts and insects.
