Blue Bonnet Parrot Information

The blue bonnet is an Australian parrot.Blue bonnet parrot is medium sized parrot with prominent crest-like head feathers.This last  sub-species was involved a in a captive breeding plan in conjunction with CALM in approximately 1994. The small colony on the nullarbor plain is thought to be In some danger due to  pressure on it's habitat and lack of birds In aviaries encouraged the illegal trade in the birds. Bluebonnets are brave, bold, dominating little birds with the male especially aggressive in mating season. From late July to December they lay about 5 eggs. hatch in 19 days and reave the nest about a month later.
