Plum Headed Parakeet

Until the late 80's these birds were quite rare in Australian aviaries, however they are now fairly well known and although they can be difficult to breed. Plum-headed Parakeets are found in flocks, the males having a pinkish purple head and the females, a grey head.
Plum headed parakeet diet:
Seed heads wild grass, vegetables, garden weeds,  corn, fruit (all kinds), chillies and our local eucalyptus and grevillia branches with seed/flowers.
